Skoda Kushaq Facelift Teased: Feature-Focused Update on the Way
Skoda India has officially dropped the first teaser of the upcoming Kushaq facelift, hinting at a meaningful update for its popular mid-size SUV. Introduced in 2021, the Kushaq is now set for its first major refresh as competition in the segment intensifies. Rather than a dramatic redesign, the facelift is expected to focus on improved features, usability, and modern tech.
Design Updates: Familiar Shape with Refreshed Styling
Although the teaser image keeps most details under wraps, it does reveal subtle changes to the front profile. Spy images from recent test runs suggest that the overall silhouette will remain unchanged, while the front and rear ends receive a refreshed look.
Front-End Changes
The updated front fascia is likely to draw inspiration from Skoda’s newer design language. Expect revised headlamps with a sharper lighting signature, a reworked grille, and sportier elements such as blacked-out alloy wheels, which have already been seen on camouflaged test vehicles.
Rear-End Revisions
At the rear, the facelifted Kushaq is expected to feature a redesigned tail section. A connected tail-lamp layout appears to be on the cards, giving the SUV a wider and more contemporary stance.
Interior & Feature Upgrades: Big Focus on Comfort and Tech
Inside the cabin, Skoda is expected to address customer feedback by offering more practical and premium features. One of the most talked-about additions could be a panoramic sunroof, which has been spotted on test models and is in high demand among buyers.
Expected Feature Additions
- Larger touchscreen infotainment system
- Front seat ventilation for added comfort
- 360-degree surround-view camera
- Level 2 ADAS for enhanced safety
- Physical buttons replacing capacitive climate controls
The move back to physical buttons is likely to improve ease of use, especially while driving, making the cabin more user-friendly.
No Mechanical Changes Expected
As is typical with facelifts, the Kushaq’s engine lineup is expected to remain unchanged. The SUV will likely continue with the same turbo-petrol options, ensuring familiar performance and reliability.
Engine Options
- 1.0-litre turbo-petrol producing 114 bhp and 178 Nm
- 1.5-litre turbo-petrol producing 148 bhp and 250 Nm
Transmission choices are expected to include a manual gearbox, a torque converter automatic, and a dual-clutch automatic, depending on the variant.
What to Expect Overall
The Skoda Kushaq facelift appears to be a well-timed update aimed at keeping the SUV competitive in a crowded market. With smarter features, improved safety tech, and subtle design enhancements, the refreshed Kushaq could appeal strongly to both new buyers and existing Skoda fans.
