Design and Dimensions
Despite sharing its name with the popular petrol-powered Access, the E-Access is a completely different product. It features a modern design with a sharp front apron, all-LED lighting and a distinctive beak-like fascia.
- Length: 1,860 mm
- Wheelbase: 1,305 mm
- Ground Clearance: 160 mm
- Seat Height: 765 mm
- Kerb Weight: 122 kg
Suzuki is offering the E-Access in four dual-tone colour schemes – black/red, white/grey, green/grey and blue/grey.
Battery, Motor and Performance
The Suzuki E-Access is powered by a 3.07 kWh lithium-ferro phosphate (LFP) battery. While LFP cells are known for better thermal stability and longer life cycles, they typically offer lower energy density.
Suzuki claims a maximum range of 95 km (IDC), though real-world usage is expected to deliver around 65–75 km on a full charge.
Powering the scooter is a permanent magnet motor producing 5.5 bhp and 15 Nm of torque. The E-Access has a top speed of 71 kmph, making it suitable for urban commuting.
Charging Options
The E-Access comes standard with a portable AC charger that takes approximately 6 hours and 40 minutes to fully charge the battery.
In addition, the scooter supports DC fast charging via a Type 6 connector, similar to those used by Ola Electric, Simple Energy and Ultraviolette. With fast charging, the battery can be topped up in just over two hours.
Suzuki claims it has already installed DC fast chargers at more than 240 showrooms nationwide, while AC charging points are available at all authorised dealerships.
Pricing and Competition
At Rs 1.88 lakh, the Suzuki E-Access is positioned at the premium end of the electric scooter segment. It competes with popular models such as the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube and Ather Rizta.
However, the E-Access is significantly more expensive than its rivals, costing over Rs 50,000 more than the top-spec Chetak and over Rs 30,000 more than comparable variants of the TVS iQube and Ather Rizta.
Final Thoughts
While the Suzuki E-Access offers proven build quality and fast-charging support, its premium pricing and relatively modest range could be a concern for value-conscious buyers. More clarity on battery warranty and long-term ownership costs will be crucial for Suzuki as it establishes itself in India’s competitive EV scooter market.
