Top Sedans and MPVs Expected to Launch in 2026
While SUVs continue to dominate the Indian car market, sedans and MPVs are far from disappearing. In fact, 2026 is shaping up to be an important year for these body styles, with multiple facelifts and feature-rich updates planned across popular models. From refreshed C-segment sedans to updated family MPVs, here’s a look at what’s coming.
Hyundai Verna Facelift
Hyundai is set to introduce a facelifted version of the Verna in 2026. The update is expected to bring a revised exterior design along with upgraded interior features. While the engine options are likely to remain unchanged, the sedan may receive tech enhancements similar to the updated Venue. The Verna will continue to compete with the Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus.
Honda City Facelift
The Honda City is due for a significant refresh in 2026, marking the third update of the current generation. The sedan is expected to receive redesigned front and rear styling, along with improved cabin features. This update is likely to be the final one before the next-generation City arrives around 2030. Honda is also expected to continue offering the e:HEV hybrid variant.
Skoda Slavia & Volkswagen Virtus Facelift
Following the upcoming Skoda Kushaq facelift, the Slavia and Virtus are also scheduled for updates in 2026. Both sedans are expected to receive refreshed exterior styling and a more modern interior layout. Feature upgrades may include larger infotainment screens, Level 2 ADAS, connected car tech, a 360-degree camera, and improved rear seat comfort.
Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Rumion & XL6 Facelift
Maruti Suzuki’s Ertiga, along with its Toyota sibling Rumion and the premium XL6, are expected to receive cosmetic facelifts in 2026. Changes will mainly focus on updated styling and refreshed interiors. The XL6 may also gain additional features such as a larger touchscreen, enhanced Suzuki Connect system, and possibly Level 2 ADAS on select variants.
What to Expect in 2026
With manufacturers focusing on feature upgrades, safety technology, and refreshed designs, 2026 could mark a strong comeback year for sedans and MPVs. Buyers looking for comfort, space, and driving refinement will have plenty of new options to choose from.
