Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella Base Variant Unveiled: What the E1 Trim Offers
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has taken its first big step into India’s mass-market EV space with the unveiling of the Urban Cruiser Ebella. Sharing its underpinnings with the Maruti e Vitara, this electric SUV is expected to reach showrooms in the coming weeks, with prices likely to be announced shortly.
The Ebella will be sold in three trims — E1, E2 and E3 — with the entry-level E1 variant positioned as the most affordable way into Toyota’s new electric lineup.
Expected India Price
Industry estimates suggest the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella E1 could be priced in the range of ₹18 lakh to ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it squarely against upcoming and established midsize electric SUVs in the country.
Powertrain and Battery
The base E1 version is expected to be offered exclusively with a 49kWh battery pack paired to a single electric motor. This setup produces around 142bhp and 189Nm of torque, focusing on balanced performance and everyday usability.
Exterior Highlights
Despite being the entry trim, the Urban Cruiser Ebella E1 carries a contemporary design language with several premium touches. Exterior features include:
- LED daytime running lamps with projector headlamps
- 18-inch alloy wheels
- Flush-style rear door handles near the window line
- Black body cladding and faux skid plates
- Front fender-mounted charging port
- New LED taillight signature
- Shark-fin antenna and rear bumper reflectors
Interior and Cabin Features
Inside, Toyota has given the Ebella a modern, dual-tone brown-and-black cabin theme combined with a long list of convenience features for the segment.
- Two-spoke multifunction steering wheel
- Dual 10-inch digital displays for infotainment and instrumentation
- Electronic parking brake with auto-hold
- Acoustic vehicle alert system (AVAS)
- Sliding and reclining rear seats
- Height-adjustable driver seat
- Auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror
- Tilt and telescopic steering adjustment
- 40:20:40 split-folding rear seatback
With a strong feature list, familiar mechanical roots and Toyota’s service network backing it, the Urban Cruiser Ebella E1 aims to make a compelling case for buyers entering the electric-SUV segment.
Full pricing details and launch timelines are expected to be confirmed by Toyota in the coming days.
