Updated KTM 160 Duke Gets TFT Console: Features, Price and Verdict Explained

Updated KTM 160 Duke Gets TFT Console: Features, Price and Verdict Explained

Updated KTM 160 Duke: What’s New?

KTM has updated the 160 Duke with a new, more premium variant that brings a TFT instrument console to the lineup. Priced at Rs 1.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), this version is aimed at riders who want a more modern and upmarket riding interface without stepping up to a larger displacement model.

New TFT Instrument Console Explained

The highlight of the update is the new 5-inch bonded glass TFT display, the same unit seen on the KTM Duke 250 and Duke 390. Riders can switch between two different screen layouts and personalise the display by setting shift RPM alerts and engine rev limits. The updated switchgear also mirrors the design and tactile feel of KTM’s bigger Dukes.

Connected Technology and Navigation

The TFT console supports smartphone connectivity through the KTM Connect app. Riders using helmet intercom systems can access call notifications, answer calls, and control music directly from the handlebar switches. Turn-by-turn navigation is also included, making daily commutes and highway rides more convenient.

Features Compared to the LCD Variant

Functionally, the TFT-equipped KTM 160 Duke offers the same connected features as the LCD-equipped version. The key difference lies in visual clarity, interface quality, and overall premium feel. Both variants continue to offer full-LED lighting and Supermoto mode, which allows rear-wheel ABS intervention to be switched off.

Is the Price Premium Worth It?

The TFT variant commands a premium of around Rs 9,000 over the standard LCD model. While the display certainly enhances the riding experience, the absence of additional features beyond the screen upgrade may make the pricing feel steep for some buyers. Still, riders who value a high-quality display and premium cockpit experience will appreciate this update.
