Young shuttler Anmol Kharb delivered a standout performance by defeating Canada’s world No. 45 Wen Yu Zhang in a hard-fought three-game encounter. Anmol showed great composure to clinch the match 21-18, 20-22, 21-19, extending her impressive run in the tournament.

Aakarshi Kashyap Advances in Style

Aakarshi Kashyap also booked her place in the main draw with a confident straight-games victory over fellow Indian Isharani Baruah. The 24-year-old won the match 21-13, 21-17, displaying solid control throughout.

Both Anmol Kharb and Aakarshi Kashyap will now compete alongside Sindhu, Bansod, and Sharma in the first round of the women’s singles main draw today.

Mixed Results in Doubles Events

Men’s Doubles See Positive Start

In men’s doubles, MR Arjun and Hariharan Amsakarunan emerged as the only Indian pair in action on the opening day. The duo registered a comfortable win over Indonesian pair Devin Artha Wahyudi and Ali Faathir Rayhan, winning 21-19, 21-13 to progress to the next round.

Women’s Doubles Exit

India’s challenge in women’s doubles faced an early setback as Rashmi Ganesh and Sania Sikkandar were eliminated by the top-seeded Chinese pair Keng Shu Liang and Li Hua Zhou. The Indian duo lost 21-23, 10-21 in their round of 32 match.
