24SevenUpdates is an independent Indian news website covering national and world news, politics, business, sports, entertainment, health, technology, automobiles and crypto. This page explains the standards every story on this site is held to, so readers know exactly how our journalism is made.

1. Who we are

24SevenUpdates is published from India and edited by the 24SevenUpdates Editorial Desk. Stories carry the desk byline because our reporting, editing and publishing is a team effort rather than the work of a single correspondent. The desk is responsible for everything published here, including errors.

2. Story selection and sourcing

We cover stories that matter to readers in India and to Indian readers following world events. Every story starts from primary or clearly identified sources: official statements and government releases, company filings and press releases, court and police records, verified social accounts of the people involved, and reporting by established news organisations.

• When a story is based on another outlet's original reporting, we say so in the text and link or name the outlet. We do not present someone else's scoop as our own.
• We do not publish rumours, unverified viral claims or paid placements disguised as news.
• Where a claim is disputed, we attribute it to whoever made it rather than stating it as fact.

3. Verification and accuracy

Before publication, an editor checks names, titles, dates, numbers, quotes and the URL of every source used. Numbers that drive a story — box-office figures, prices, casualty counts, poll results — are checked against the primary source. If a fact cannot be verified, it is removed or clearly labelled as unconfirmed.

4. How we use AI tools

We use AI-assisted software to help with research summaries, first drafts, headlines and formatting. AI is a tool in our workflow, not a replacement for editorial judgement:

• Every article is reviewed by a human editor before it is published, and the desk is accountable for the final text.
• Facts produced with AI assistance are checked against the original source. AI output is never published as-is.
• We do not use AI to fabricate quotes, sources, images or events.

We disclose this openly because readers deserve to know how the content they read is produced.

5. Images and media

We use images we are licensed to use or that are supplied by the people and organisations in the story, and we credit them where credit is required. We do not alter photographs in ways that change what they depict. Where an illustration or generated graphic is used instead of a photograph, it is used only as decoration and never to imply a real scene.

6. Corrections and takedowns

• Factual errors are fixed as soon as they are confirmed, and the article's update time is changed.
• Significant corrections carry a note at the foot of the story explaining what changed.
• Requests to remove personal information, copyright complaints and right-of-reply requests are reviewed by the desk, usually within three working days.

7. Independence, advertising and affiliates

Editorial decisions are made by the desk alone. Advertising, including programmatic advertising, never buys coverage or influences how a story is written. Sponsored or affiliate content, if published, is labelled as such on the page.
